Finished result!
We have now completed and handed in our film. I am really pleased with the result of it as i believe we spent a lot of time on researching titles and getting the editing perfect as we had to place each sound at the exact right place and using our questionnaires to help us which has therefore allowed us to have such a brilliant outcome. The only thing i regret is having to re-film the pan around of the playground then having to keep the jolty shots in as we were unable to re-film, due to different light tones, as well as adding in the jolty birds eye view version of the dinner table however i hope that due to our amount of time spent on the titles and making them perfect the viewers can oversee the unsteady camera. If i had more time i would defiantly spend it reshooting the whole of the park scene so as to fix the unsteady camera shot therefore the whole light would be the same as it is meant to be seen as shot on the same day and reshoot the birds eye view shot of the dinner table to also cancel out the unsteady camera. Excluding the few unsteady camera shots im extremely pleased with how the outcome has transformed.
Final touches.
We have now managed to get a 2 minuet opening and added in the titles. We chose to add in times of the day at the bottom left hand corner to show the time difference and how the antagonist plans it and to link it to being in the style of a police report. We used the font 'american typewriter' for each title and when it came to the times for example 5:00 PM as each number or letter comes up at the bottom of the screen a clicking sound is played which is the same as a keyboard to build tension and again relating back to a police report. we then added in titles on top of the matchstick at the beginning and on the roundabout on the close up of it going sideways as it flashes up the relate to the roundabout itself being quick, as well as titles added onto the wooden gate fitting in with the wooden planks and popping up as the gate shuts and finally the mothers name whilst she looks at her watch. I believe we incorporated the most appropriate titles we believe we should of used including actors, starring, production, directed by...

Captured.
We have decided to name our film 'CAPTURED' as we had many ideas including 'missing' and 'lost' but all these names had either already be used so could be too easily linked or not personal enough to the movie. We had edited it so the title flashed up in the middle of the screen as the kettle boils. We wanted the title to link to a light that is flickering therefore we brightened it and created the flicker of it so therefore it stood out to the audience and gave them a hint as to what was to come later on in the film.

Timing.
We have not quite reached 2 minuets yet so we have slowed down our second scene of the close up and fade of the picture of the swings at the play park which also creates more tension and allowed the audience to understand what is going on more. We also have also replaced our birds eye view shot of the dinner table with another one as we planned to freeze frame it so we could add the children actors in and fade out the children's names one by one to link into the disappearance of each of them as there lives fade away. However the original one we were using the mothers arm was still in the frame at the end of the shot therefore we had to use another shot in order to freeze it however this shot jolts at the beginning but we hope that the creative use of titles will over look the jolting.

Music for pan around of playground.
We have found the perfect music to play over the pan around of the playground on the website i posted earlier ... www.music4yourvids.co.uk. The music is called 'Childhood memories of winter' and downloaded and listened to on the following link...http://www.mediafire.com/?xkmd2zmjxt1

Music and trouble with re-filming...
We managed to add the new filming of the pan around but we soon found out the light was a lot lighter and did not match the beginning part of the film, we tried to edit the light and colour so i could match the scene before however we could not match it up therefore we had to stick with the original pan around which unfortunately has a jolt down in it however there is not much we can do about it but hope it doesn't mark us down. We also tried the other pan arounds we had filmed on the previous day with the original but none were as smooth as the one we chose. We also added some shots in as it was not quite 2 minuets so we added two close ups of the roundabout, one of a birds eye view of it spinning and one of a side shoot of it spinning to create tension and suspense.
Birds eye view shot:
Side spinning shot:
We also managed to get the fuzzy TV noise by using a car radio instead of the website I posted earlier as like i said before we would like to do most of the music ourselves and also recorded alison playing twinkle twinkle little star on the piano to play whilst the cooker is turned on to the finish at the end to link back into the little girl singing the nursery rhyme at the start to create a creepy atmosphere .

TV fuzzy noise
I have finally found some good sounds that sound like a broken TV to make our fuzzy TV on a copyright free sound effect website ...http://www.partnersinrhyme.com/soundfx/electricsoundfx.shtml. I shall show my partner tomorrow and we can match the sounds to music and see which ones we think work best.

Music - Sound effects
We have now got our ticking noise for our clock off a copyright free sound effect website however we still need to find our fuzzy noise for the fuzzy TV. Tonight we should be recording the little girl in which we used for our film to sing twinkle twinkle little star to use as just sound covering the part of the police knocking on the door to make it creepy as well as playing the music on the piano to do as much music ourselves as possible instead of getting all of our music off websites.
finishing re-filming and carrying on with editing.
we have now re-filmed the pan around in the park and have also added in running footsteps of the little girl and close ups of the round about. We have also found the music we plan to use on the pan around of the park which was copyright free on the website I posted under researching into music. As well when doing research on to the art of the title I found some films used times schedules to show how the day had moved on and make the movie more intense. I did some further research into the titles on www.artofthetitle.com and I investigated more into horrors and mainly looked at 'Dawn of the dead' and 'Halloween' in which I found out they used colours for the titles which contrasted to the background to make them stand out more this is why we have incorporated white into all of our titles as the film in its self is a dull and dark background linking to the theme of horror making the titles stand out. I also found the writing needs to be big enough to read and the font needs to be readable therefore me and my partner alison found a font called 'american typewriter' in which we have used for all our writing and for the times have added noise to make the sound effect as if it is being typed whilst it pops up on to the screen to link to a police report in which the police are looking back on to put together what happened to the children. We have also added in the titles sticking to the story board of having titles whilst the kettle is on and on the gate etc editing them so they are in the exactly right position.
These are some screen grabs I got from researching into the titles of 'Dawn of the dead' and 'Halloween'

Examples of other peoples work.
We watched other years work which have already done the work and we saw how no matter how amazing the filming is without titles the mark will get brought down which is why me and alison are adding titles and taking our time to make them just the way we want them as we had the idea of adding times in at certain parts and having it as a type writer noise in the background as you hear each click as each number pops up. We also saw how if you actors couldn't act it ruined the whole sequence therefore we made sure at all times our actors did not look at the camera and tried to make it look as natural as possible. I think this showed us we need to make sure to get the right music to fit the scene, our actors look natural and titles are added and the camera is steady with all different types of shots and we learn from past years students mistakes.
Music
When researching into music I found it hard to get copyright free music and do most of it ourselves. We plan to use the same girl to sing twinkle twinkle little star in which we used in the film whilst playing the piano in the background as I know how to play the piano so therefore we have created our own music to twinkle twinkle little star. However we still need to find some creepy music whilst we are panning around the playground and some music to sound like a fuzzy TV to match the video of a fuzzy TV I did try and make the noise with my own TV however it only works when I take it out and does not work for long enough.
I found quite a good website in which I plan to research and list to some off the music and see if i think it could match our film.http://music4yourvids.co.uk/pages/mymusicpag.html

re-filming.
We plan to re-film the pan around of the park as it jolts a bit as I had trouble keeping me hand steady due to the fact it was so cold, we are now therefore re-shooting the pan around and are now looking for music to add in as well as we plan to get the little girl to sing twinkle twinkle little star at the end to our opening sequence
